Randy McMillan has worked in the communications industry for 24 years. Beginning his career with Utility Cable Contractors as a cable TV technician, he has developed his skills through hands-on training and formal education to encompass many technical and operational aspects of the telecommunications industry. In 1993 Randy was trained by, and then contracted to Rogers Cable to construct and splice their state-of-the-art fibre optic network. Fibre optics placing and splicing has become the main focus of Randy’s technical contribution for the last 10 years. In 1997 Randy joined Lightwave Communications as the operations manager, and was directly responsible for all field operations including pre-fielding, quoting, and completing all projects. In 2000, Randy joined Dome Communications as Operations Manager, assuming the same duties as with Lighwave. At Parallax, Randy has overall responsibility for implementing all field operations, securing contracts, and maintaining close personal contact with Parallax’s clients.
Bret Gagnon has worked in the telecommunications industry for the past 18 years. He started his career as a cable TV technician with Utility Cable Contractors performing installations, service, and plant construction for Rogers Cable. This led to years of outside plant infrastructure building via aerial and underground cable placing with Utility Cable. In 1997 Bret joined Lightwave Communications and was the senior foreman responsible for all of Lightwave’s cable placing. In 2000 Bret joined Dome Communications and was placed in charge of cable placing and infrastructure builds. His accomplishments while with Lightwave and Dome include: the fibre placing of the entire Group Telecom underground fibre network, as well as the entire 60 Km aerial and underground fibre placing project for Urban Networks. At Parallax, Bret has overall responsibility for all technical issues and overseeing all work performed.
